Editing

editing tools “I was working on the proof of one of my poems all the morning, and took out a comma. In the afternoon I put it back again.” ~ Oscar Wilde

Let me handle the commas.

  • You’re on draft 372 of that article and your eyes are numb.  I can help.
  • You’ve just finished another draft of your book and your brain has locked up.  I can help.
  • You only have time to jot down your thoughts, but need a polished piece. I can help.

How?

By line editing, copyediting, and/or possibly even co-writing (let’s talk).

While copyediting focuses on getting the writing correct, line editing focuses on consistency in voice, ease of flow, clarity of ideas, effective word use, and other aspects of the art of writing.

Consider an editor for your articles, newsletters, blog posts, user guides, manuals, books, and other written pieces.

Why?

Because sharp, clean writing makes a statement.  Don’t let wandering ideas, knotted sentences, or typos tarnish your work.

How much?

Fees vary depending on your editing needs (I know, I know, but it’s true!).  After I see a sample of your editing project and have a brief conversation with you (phone or email), I will provide an estimate of hours and rate.

As a benchmark, my rates start at $65/hr.

Next Steps

Simply contact me to schedule a phone conversation (no charge) for us to “meet” and see if we might want to work together.
