Clean Windows

by Starla J. King on August 11, 2011

“If you can develop your silence, you see more clearly where you are — it’s like having your windows cleaned.”Sue Bender, from Stretching Lessons

We struggle.  We struggle for clarity, for self-respect, to make our place in this world, to understand who and why we are.

We look through dirty windows and wonder why we can’t see out.

In our struggle, we push, we fight, we yell, we pack our schedules and our minds so full that we don’t get to (or have to) hear the silence.

And in doing so, we drown out our own voice… sometimes on purpose, afraid of how we might sound or who we might truly be… and sometimes unknowingly, too busy recording someone else’s voice as our own.

Perhaps within each of us there is a daring spirit that whispers to be heard. — Sue Bender

If we give ourselves silence, we can hear the whispers of our own daring spirit.  The daring spirit that grins at our shadows and gives us the courage to share our Art with the world.

Give your whispers the space to be heard.  It’s so much easier to see through clean windows.
